Peter  Ranson

Peter Ranson, 80, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was a native of Hannover, Germany and a resident of Savannah for many years.

While serving in the United States Army for twenty-six years, he received the Vietnam Service Medal, the Defense Service Medal, and the Expert Riflemen's Medal, among many other awards and medals. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed working on as well as racing Mercedes-Benz.

He is survived by his wife, of Renate R. Ranson, of Savannah, two daughters, Patricia Chadwick, of Bailey, CO, and Yvonne Kaiser, of Silverdale, WA, two sons, Ralph Ranson, and Rene Ranson, both of Savannah, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Beaufort National Cemetery.
